General Introduction

A tyrosinase inhibitor. It exhibits skin-lightening property, due to its ability to chelate the copper-containing enzyme tyrosinase in the formation of melanin. It is becoming more widely used in skin whitening cosmetics, bath lotions, toothpaste etc. Kojic Acid is also antibacterial, prevents oxidization and preserves color, therefore loading to use in food preservatives, oil antioxidants,preventing fruit and vegetables from becoming stale, and preserving the color of meat and aquatic products. In addition, Kojic Acid can also be used in chemical intermediate products, agriculture plant protection, chemical reagents and in antibiotics.
