General Introduction
A hydrosoluble cationic preservative which can be used for the preservation of all personal care products. It is active against a wide spectrum of microorganisms including bacteria,fungi and yeasts. Although it has broad spectrum anti-microbial activity,BI HDI liquid is particularly effective as a fungicide in the control of yeast and moulds. It is generally recommended to be used in combination with other preservatives with enhanced bactericidal properties like Phenoxyethanol to boost overall anti-microbial activity. It may be used in a wide variety of rinse off and leave on applications. BI HDI liquid is considered to be non-toxic and safe for use in personal care applications in normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use at recommended levels. According to the regulation of Europe and USA, BI HDI liquid is authorised up to 1%.
