As a dry binder, it can be mixed with active pharmaceutical ingredients and other excipients (such as microcrystalline cellulose) for direct compression into tablets. • Wet granulation: The bonding efficiency of its ethanol or water/alcohol mixed solution is very high, and the resulting granules have strong compressibility. 

2. As a coating material: Forming multifunctional films

• Rapid-release film coating: Mainly used to improve the appearance of tablets, mask the taste, prevent dust, and serve as an isolation layer for subsequent coatings (such as enteric coatings). Due to its excellent water solubility, it does not delay drug release. 
• Process performance: Its solution has low viscosity, good spreading property, is easy to operate and form uniform films.
